No photos on the dancefloor

During the summer 2022, I have been thinking about questions of images, representations and archives in the spaces of parties and celebrations in a city like Berlin where the relationship to photos is particular, often controlled, limited, when it is not simply forbidden in the majority of clubs.
I recorded the words of party actors I met or appreciated there: photographers, performers, DJs, event organizers but also more simply party partners. In the same way that I had recorded the stories of friends in my project entitled "Les conteurs” (The Storytellers), I invited myself into their intimacy, into their bedroom or living room that they deserted during the time of the party. Then, I asked them to tell me freely about their relationship with parties and all that they can embrace: the music, the light, the space, the public, the alcohol, the drugs, the scenography, the looks, the photos, etc. Their feedbacks are all very personal and situated, but they try to shed light on certain aspects of problems for which there cannot be only one answer and one point of view.
